Shiela Valderrama-Martinez to Stage ‘Part of My World’ Triple Threats Concert this October
Shiela Valderrama-Martinez is set to stage her own Triple Threats concert this October, entitled Part of My World, on October 17 at the Tanghalang Ignacio Gimenez of the Cultural Center of the Philippines. She is the second leading lady to take the stage this year, following Carla Guevara Laforteza and preceding Tanya Manalang-Atadero.
Like Carla Guevara Laforteza, Shiela Valderrama-Martinez is celebrating her 30th year in the industry. At the Triple Threats press conference, she shared, “As early as when I was 8 and I watched Lea [Salonga] play Annie, I told my seatmate, ‘I wanna be on that stage and perform.’”
When asked what audiences can expect from her concert, she revealed that she’ll be singing some lesser-known Broadway-style songs she’s always wanted to perform. “If you’re familiar with Quiet by Natalie Weiss, I’m singing that. I remember working out during the pandemic, and it played on Spotify. It’s not a workout song—it’s a ballad. But when I was listening to it, I thought, ‘I like this song. It’s really nice.’ That afternoon, I learned it right away because it was just such a beautiful song.”
She added, “We haven’t fully finalized my repertoire, but it talks about my journey—songs and shows I’ve been wanting to sing but haven’t had the opportunity to. The rest will be a surprise!”
At the press conference, she performed a medley of Disney songs arranged by her musical director, Rony Fortich.
Part of My World is directed by Menchu Lauchengco-Yulo, with musical direction by Rony Fortich, and a script by Luna Griño-Inocian. Also in ger creative team are PJ Rebullida (Choreography), John Batalla (Technical Director / Light Designer),GA Fallarme (Projection Design), Rards Corpus (Sound Design), Lawyn Cruz (Set Design), Paw Castillo (Photography and Poster), and Franco Laurel (Creative Director for poster Design and Styling).
Her special guests for the evening include her husband and daughter, Lorenz Martinez and Simone Martinez, Arman Ferrer, David Ezra, Floyd Tena, and The Leading Ladies, which includes Valderrama-Martinez, Carla Guevara Laforteza, and Yanah Laurel.
Tickets are P2,500 and P3,000. Access to tickets will be announced soon.
