​Creative Image Foundation, in cooperation with Tosh Entertainment, present “Repablik Ak”, a freestyle experimental play in Tagalog by notable filmmaker Toshihiko Uriu (producer of Aliw Award winner “BAKATA: Battle of the Street Poets”). Directed by Pio Balbuena, with creative consultants Direk Tikoy Aguiluz, Onin Delotavo Tagaro, and Rolando Eucasion, the show has been crafted to showcase the artistic talents of the CIF children and to raise awareness on Republic Act 9165 (Drug Act) and 9028 (Human Trafficking Act) that have taken hold of the country.

Synopsis

This story is about a family, not so different from any other, were it not for a stroke of fate. Alma, the eldest in the family, is a pimp forced to work in a harsh industry to provide for her brothers. Cesar is the middle child who happens to be a drunkard and a lout. Lito is the youngest child who has been dragged into a bad crowd. Will her good intentions prevail? Will they manage to stay together inspite of the harsh circumstances?​

Creative Image Foundation, Inc. (CIF) is a non-stock and non-profit organization from GARBAGE to DREAMS creating a BRIGHTER FUTURE for the children of Payatas and Smokey Mountain. It was founded by Mr. Toshihiko Uriu with the intention of helping the communities of Payatas and Smokey Mountain. In the recent years, the foundation have been working towards helping the children of these communities bring out and develop their artistic talents through various workshops.

About TIU Theater

Since its founding in May 2014, the TIU Theater has served as a venue for the growing art scene in Metro Manila. Formerly known as Louie’s THX Cinema, the TIU Theater has opened its doors to various theater performances, and artistic groups looking for a home to call their own. The TIU Theater is in residence at Amorsolo Street in Makati City, Philippines.​
