Full Cast Announced for Atlantis Theatrical’s ‘Side Show’

The circus is complete! Atlantis Theatrical Entertainment Group is proud to announce the full cast for the Tony Award nominated Broadway musical, SIDE SHOW, which is set to open on the 31st of August at the Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium, RCBC Plaza, Makati. Rehearsals are in full swing with the cast currently hard at work to bring Henry Krieger and Bill Russell’s powerful musical to life.

Taking centre stage as the conjoined twins, Daisy and Violet Hilton, are Gab Pangilinan and Kayla Rivera. They take on two of the most sought after and demanding roles in musical theatre. Appearing in numerous shows such as Rak of Aegis, 3 Stars and a Sun, and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Gab is no newcomer to the industry, and packs a mighty punch in her Atlantis debut in Side Show. Not to be outdone is Kayla, winner of the David Foster Star Search in Canada and a runner up of ABS CBN’s STAR POWER, who has an array of Atlantis musicals in her repertoire, including In The Heights, Aladdin, Carrie, and The Addams Family to name a few.

Playing the mysterious ringmaster Sir is Wency Cornejo, former lead vocalist of OPM rock band AfterImage, who produced ‘90s hits that topped the charts such as “Habang May Buhay” and “Tag-Ulan”. After years of producing albums as a solo artist, Wency will be making his musical theater debut with Atlantis in Side Show.

Playing the men instrumental in Daisy and Violet’s rise to fame are Markki Stroem as the talent scout Terry Connor and David Ezra as Buddy. Markki made his debut in professional musical theater with Atlantis as Henry in Next To Normal. He has also played Tommy Ross in Carrie and Tommy DeVito in Jersey Boys. He continuous to be a sought after singer in the entertainment industry. David is one of musical theatre’s fast rising leading men and has already won numerous awards, including the Aliw Award for Best Actor in a Musical for his title role in “Aurelio Sedisyoso: A Rock Sarswela”. They are joined by Arman Ferrer as Jake, one of the Hilton Sister’s truest friends. Arman is also a rising musical theatre leading man who most recently appeared in the musical Binondo.

Joining the cast as the circus freaks are some of the most talented performers in musical theatre, namely Christine Flores as the Bearded Lady, Ring Antonio as the Fortune Teller, Mica Fajardo as the Albino Lady, Alex Reyes as the Tattooed Girl, Jill Pena as Venus de Milo, Chesko Rodriguez as the Three Legged Man, Luis Marcelo as the Geek, Juancho Escoto as the Lizard Man, Vien King as Half-Man Half-Woman, and Tim Pavino as Dog Boy / Houdini.

Infused with a celebrated pop score, Side Show is a heart warming musical about love, loss,, sisterhood, and what it truly means to be unique. It features a Book by Bill Russell and Music by Henry Krieger, who also composed the iconic hit musical DREAMGIRLS. Side Show was nominated for four Tony Awards including BEST MUSICAL.

SIDE SHOW is directed by Steven Conde, with choreography by Cecile Martinez, set design by Lawyn Cruz, lighting design by Jonjon Villareal, sound design by Jason Crystal, projection design by GA Fallarme, costume design by Odelon Simpao, hair and make up design by Johann dela Fuente, musical direction by Farley Asuncion and vocal direction by Manman Angsico.
