As previously reported, The Playbook Club is set to stage a revival of its 2023 all-female production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream this August.

William Shakespeare’s romantic comedy follows four young lovers and a group of rude mechanicals who find themselves entangled in the magical world of the fairies within an enchanted forest. The play explores themes of love, illusion, and the unpredictable nature of human desire.

The company has now announced the full cast. The Fairies are composed of returning cast members Dippy Arceo as Puck/Philostrate, Nikki Bengzon as Oberon/Theseus, and newcomer Mijon Cortez as Titania/Hippolyta.

Returning as the Mechanicals are Barbara Jance as Peter Quince/Egeus and Philomena Yap as Bottom.

Reprising their roles as the Lovers are Giselle Giorgia as Lysander/Starveling the Tailor and Chez Cuenca as Helena/Snob the Joiner. Teia Contreras joins the Lovers as Hermia while reprising her role as Flute the Bellows-Mender. Completing the Lovers is new cast member Leanne Mamonong as Demetrius/Snout the Tinker.

Nelsito Gomez returns to direct the production. Joining him on the team are Sarah Facuri (production designer), Rafa Sumilong (lighting designer), Uriel Tibayan (sound designer), and Katreana Gamban (stage manager).

In cooperation with GetSeatedPH and Madison Events, The Playbook Club’s rerun of A Midsummer Night’s Dream will be staged across four performances over two days: August 22 at 8:00 PM, and August 23 at 1:00 PM, 4:30 PM, and 8:00 PM at The Mirror Studio Theater. Tickets are priced at ₱1,600 (Patron) and ₱1,000 (Regular) and are available through the Playbook Club’s Google Form.

The Playbook Club (PBC) is a grassroots production house that stages theater productions, produces short films, and hosts monthly script-reading nights. In addition to managing its pool of artists, the company also provides casting services for films, music videos, theater productions, and TV commercials. Its most recent production was the 2025 twin bill First Love, Last Love, featuring original plays Napapanahon and CoR by playwright Rafael Jimenez.
