WATCH: New Music Video for “Immigrants” from the Hamilton Mixtape!
Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda debuted the new video for “Immigrants (We Get the Job Done)” on the Today show yesterday.
The song was inspired by the track “Yorktown” from the musical and is on the highly successful Hamilton Mixtape. This is the first official video from the album, and features artists K’Naan, Residente, Snow Tha Product, and Riz MC (you may also know him as actor Riz Ahmed from ‘Rogue One’ and ‘The Night Of’). It was directed by Tomás Whitmore, with executive producers that include Miranda and filmmaker Robert Rodriguez.
The video is a direct interpretation of the song and its themes about the refugee experience. But true to the lyrics “We get the job done”, there’s also a sense of defiance because of everything they’ve overcome.
