‘Silid 13’ Play Exploring Mental Health to be Staged in Laguna This September
Rosa Artes is set to stage its maiden production, the original psychological drama Silid 13, this September at Gabaldon Hall, Santa Rosa Elementary School Central 2 in Santa Rosa City, Laguna.
Written and directed by Joanne Caringal (who also serves as the composer for a song featured in the show), Silid 13 follows Lihim, a young man who struggles with the pain and memories he has kept hidden for years. Inside his mind are thirteen rooms, each holding a different emotion, memory, fear, and wound from his past. As he enters each room, he is forced to face the things he has spent years trying to ignore.
The play explores trauma, emotions, healing, self-acceptance, and the courage to finally speak.
Joining Caringal in the creative team are Rein Martin Ramos (assistant director and technical director) and John Francis Alinsod (musical director).
The cast features Jay Valsorable as Lihim, with JM Caratihan and Mhy-Kael Alulod as Haring Maskara; Berenice Flores and Fria Anore as Alon; Lhianne Jaen and Cristine “Rin” Gonzales as Hiraya; Thea Solamillo and Linelle Barrioquinto as Bagwis; Jahred Olimpiada and Larkyn Labao as Silakbo; Paula Gabito and Guila Gomez as Dalita; Marga Santos and Rich Copon as Dumaw; Mark Flores and Yuri Tombado as Agas; Samuel Par and Zai Anzaldo as Anino; and Anjela Era and Trish Ang as Rosa. Ramos also appears as Danilo.
The ensemble is composed of Karlvic Iñigo P. Ferrer, Roshervhan L. Egamin, Khiel Daniel B. Talibsao, Khyleen R. Barraquio, Jade Kristoff F. Hipolan, Anna Faye S. Ordiales, and Lemiz Keith S. Dollente.
Founded by Caringal and Ramos, Rosa Artes is a community-based creative arts and theater organization in Santa Rosa City, Laguna. The group aims to provide accessible training in theater, music, and dance to young people from different backgrounds, while creating safe and inclusive spaces where they can discover their talents, build confidence, and express their individual voices.
Silid 13 will run on September 26 and 27, 2026, with performances at 1 PM and 4 PM. Tickets are priced at ₱200.
