More than a decade after Sa Wakas, the jukebox musical featuring the music of Sugarfree, premiered in 2013, its creators are reuniting for a brand-new original musical.

Led by executive producer and writer Charissa Pammit and stage director Andrei Pamintuan, Muli: An OPM Musical is an Original Pinoy Musical about love, loss, and the haunting pull of “what-ifs.”

Leading the cast is Gawad Urian Award-winning actress Kakki Teodoro as Anita, whose recent stage credits include Pingkian: Isang Musikal, Into the Woods, Bar Boys: A New Musical, Himala: Isang Musikal, and Every Brilliant Thing. Her performance in the latter earned her a Philstage Gawad Buhay Award for Female Lead Performance in a Play.

Joining her is OPM singer Janine Teñoso, who will make her stage debut as Kath, Anita’s daughter. Dubbed the “OST Princess,” Teñoso is among Spotify’s most-streamed Filipino solo artists, with more than three million monthly listeners. Her best-known songs include “Tingin” with Cup of Joe and “Pelikula” with Arthur Nery.

The cast also includes Vien King as Ian (Passion and On Your Feet!), Marvin Ong as Maki (Man of La Mancha and Side Show), Justine Peña as Juls (Sa Wakas and Rent), Marynor Madamesila as Detski (Gregoria Lakambini and Walang Aray), and social media creator and Dog Show host Baus Rufo as Mito, who will make his professional theater debut.

Completing the ensemble are Raflesia Bravo, Harly Daria, Jon Abella, Gabo Tiongson, Kyla Rivera, Elian Dominguez, Miah Canton (also understudying Kath), and Matel Patayon (also understudying Anita).

Set against the backdrop of the 1990s and early 2000s, Muli takes audiences on a nostalgic musical and visual journey centered on unfulfilled dreams and second chances.

The musical’s book and lyrics are co-written by Pammit and PeopleAsia Editor-in-Chief Jose Paolo dela Cruz.

Original songs for the musical were written and produced by singer-songwriter Nica del Rosario, violinist, musical director, and composer Matthew Chang, and songwriters from FLIPMUSIC. Del Rosario is known for songs such as “Rosas” and “Tala,” while FLIPMUSIC has produced hits including BINI’s “Pantropiko,” “Salamin, Salamin,” and “Karera,” as well as Sarah Geronimo’s “Tala.”

Muli: An OPM Musical will run on select Fridays to Sundays from Sept. 11 to 27 at the Globe Auditorium, Maybank Performing Arts Theater at the BGC Arts Center in Taguig City.

Tickets are priced at P3,914 (Level 1 Center), P3,502 (Level 2 Center), P3,296 (Level 1 Sides), P2,678 (Level 2 Sides), P2,472 (Level 3 Center), and P1,854 (Level 3 Sides). They are available for purchase through TicketWorld.
