After staging Jonathan Larson’s tick, tick… BOOM!, 9 Works Theatrical has just announced that it will be staging Larson’s musical Rent as the company’s first production in 2024.

The announcement was made by 9 Works Theatrical’s Managing Director Santi Santamaria and Artistic Director Robbie Guevara, together with the cast of tick, tick, BOOM!.

“We have a surprise,” says Guevara during the closing show’s curtain call. We’ll leave it up to the cast.” “It’s a sneak peek to our next musical for next year, added Santamaria. “It’s the first time we’re going to announce it and you’ll be hearing it here live.”

“We asked the cast to learn a song from it. They don’t know if they’re going to be a part of it yet because they have to audition”, quips Guevara.

9 Works Theatrical has previously staged Rent in 2010 and 2011. Any further details of the upcoming production have yet to be announced.
