Open Auditions for Shakespeare’s Rose Theatre’s “Macbeth!”
Shakespeare’s Rose Theatre is holding auditions for its upcoming production of “Macbeth.” The company is looking for 8-12 year olds, boy or girl, to join the show’s Manila leg. They will be joining a British cast starring Alex Avery as Macbeth.
How to audition:
1. Upload a public video of your child reciting lines from the script on Facebook.
2. Make sure to use the following hashtags in your caption: #SRTManila, #LTPManila, and #SRTMacbethAuditions.
3. Tag Shakespeare’s Rose Theatre Manila.
Interested participants can download the audition script HERE. Deadline of entries is tomorrow, August 15, at 11:59pm.
Populated by witches, ghosts and haunting apparitions, “Macbeth” tells the story of over-reaching ambition, a toxic marriage, a kingdom in crisis and a man’s encounter with his own darkest self. It will be directed by Damian Cruden, who also serves as the company’s Artistic Director.
Joining Cruden in the creative team are Tom Wright (Associate Director), Amy Yardley (Associate Scenic Designer), and Sarah Mercade (Costume Designer).
The production will run from September 17-22 at The Theatre at Solaire. It will be presented as a twin-bill production with “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” (to be directed by Juliet Forster).
