Now Streaming: The Olivier Awards 2022
The 2022 Olivier Awards, which was livestreamed last April 10 BST from the Royal Albert Hall, is available for everyone to watch online.
Cabaret was the biggest winner for the evening, garnering 7 Olivier Awards including Best Musical Revival, Best Actress in a Musical for Jessie Buckley, and Best Actor in a Musical for Eddie Redmayne, Best Actress in a Supporting Role in a Musical for Liza Sadovy, Best Actor in a Supporting Role in a Musical for Elliot Levey, Best Sound Design for Nick Lidster, and Best Director for Rebecca Frecknall.
Life of Pi also won big with 5 including Best New Play, Best Actor for Hiran Abeysekera, Best Set Design (Tim Hatley for Design and Nick Barnes & Finn Caldwell for Puppets), Best Lighting Design for Tim Lutkin and Andrzej Goulding, and a historic Best Actor in a Supporting Role win for the 7 actors who played the tiger.
Back to the Future: The Musical won the award for Best New Musical and Constellations won the award for Best Revival.
There were 9 shows that had performances for the evening– Frozen the Musical, The Drifters Girl, Life of Pi, Back to the Future: The Musical, Anything Goes, Get Up Stand Up! The Bob Marley Musical, Moulin Rouge! The Musical, Spring Awakening, and Cabaret. The finale was a tribute to Stephen Sondheim performed by the swings, understudies, standbys, and alternates from the different companies.
