Harry Potter sequel Cast Announced

Remember when we talked about new new Harry Potter sequel in the works? Well, the production just announced who they’re casting for the iconic roles of Harry, Ron, and Hermione!

The new trio are quite different from Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson. Not only are this Harry, Ron, and Hermione older, Hermione will be played by Swazilan-born actress, Noma Dumezweni.

Very interesting! It’s a different direction, but upon closer reading of the Harry Potter books, there actually hasn’t been any consensus about Hermione’s ethnicity. According to Huffington Post, Ms. Dumezweni’s casting will “challenge audiences that still expect white as the default race.”

The play is set to open next year in London’s Palace Theater. What do you think of the casting?
