After yesterday’s video teaser, Lin-Manuel Miranda has just officially confirmed that Hamilton is indeed coming to the Philippines this September at The Theatre at Solaire. It will be the Asian premiere.

No word yet about which touring company will be coming over, but the Australian production will be concluding its run in Brisbane this April and will be beginning its first international tour starting in Auckland this May, so theater fans are speculating that it could be this company. No confirmation yet as of this writing.

Written by Lin-Manuel Miranda (music, lyrics, and book) based on the 2004 book entitled Alexander Hamilton by Ron Chernow, Hamilton is a sung-and-rapped-through musical about American Founding Father Alexander Hamilton. It opened on Broadway in 2015 and currently holds the record for most number of Tony Award nominations at 16. It won 11 including Best Musical and Best Book of a Musical and Best Original Score for Miranda.

A filmed version of the Broadway production was released on Disney+ in 2020, where it is still currently streaming.

Venue, casting, ticketing information, and all other details have yet to be announced. You can watch the announcement below.
