‘Frozen’ Musical Announces Auditions for 2027 Manila Production

9 Works Theatrical has announced auditions for its upcoming Philippine production of Disney’s Frozen: The Broadway Musical, which is set to open in April 2027 at the Proscenium Theater in Rockwell, Makati.

The production is looking for actors who sing and dance, aged 18 and above, with theater experience.

Auditions will be held on September 1 and 2, 2026 at the 3F Maybank Performing Arts Theater in BGC, with callbacks scheduled from September 7 to 9. Audition dates and time slots will be provided to registrants via email or text.

Auditionees are asked to prepare a maximum of 32 bars each of two Disney songs, excluding songs from Frozen, with varying tempos that highlight their vocal range. They must also bring their latest CV, photo, and minus one on a flash drive or phone, and arrive at least 30 minutes before their assigned time slot.

Registration is open until August 29. Interested auditionees may register at the link provided by the company.

Based on Disney’s 2013 animated film, Frozen follows sisters Anna and Elsa, whose relationship is tested when Elsa’s hidden powers inadvertently plunge the kingdom of Arendelle into an eternal winter. Anna sets out to find her sister and restore summer to the kingdom, encountering Kristoff, Sven, and Olaf along the way.

The stage musical features music and lyrics by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez and a book by Jennifer Lee. It includes songs from the film such as “Let It Go,” “Do You Want to Build a Snowman?,” “For the First Time in Forever,” and “Love Is an Open Door,” as well as songs written for the stage, including “Monster,” “Dangerous to Dream,” and “What Do You Know About Love?”

Frozen opened on Broadway in March 2018 at the St. James Theatre and has since been staged internationally.

As previously announced, the 9 Works Theatrical staging will mark the Philippine premiere of Frozen: The Broadway Musical. Exact performance dates, casting, creative team, and ticketing information have yet to be announced.
