Ballet Manila’s ‘Snow White’ Returns this December
Ballet Manila’s Snow White, which first premiered in 2017 as part of CEO and artistic director Lisa Macuja Elizalde’s Princess Trilogy (following Cinderella and preceding Sleeping Beauty), returns to the Aliw Theater this December as part of the company’s Holiday Cheer Series.
The series began in 2022, when Macuja Elizalde’s Cinderella was staged for two consecutive Decembers. This year marks the second consecutive holiday run of Snow White, which will be performed from December 25 to 29 at 4 PM.
“Holiday Cheer Series is our way of bringing people together through ballet,” shared Macuja Elizalde. “These productions are not only about artistry, but about using ballet to tell stories that parents and children can enjoy together, year after year.”
The prima ballerina’s dance interpretation of the classic fairy tale draws from both the Brothers Grimm and Disney versions.
For the first time, Snow White features two alternating casts in the lead roles.
For performances on December 25, 27, and 29, Nanami Hasegawa dances the title role, with principal dancer Romeo Peralta as the Prince. They are joined by principal dancer Abigail Oliveiro as the Evil Queen, Marinette Franco as the Evil Witch, and principal dancer Mark Sumaylo as the Huntsman. The dwarves are played by Anselmo Dictado (Happy), Benedict Sabularse (Soloist), Jefferson Balute (Sneezy), Rafael Perez (Bashful), Sean Kevin Pelegrin (Doc), Raymond Salcedo (Grumpy), and Jamil Montibon (Sleepy).
For performances on December 26 and 28, principal dancers Abigail Oliveiro and Mark Sumaylo take on the roles of Snow White and the Prince, respectively. Joining them are principal dancer Stephanie Santiago as the Evil Queen, Marinette Franco as the Evil Witch, and principal dancer Joshua Enciso as the Huntsman. The dwarves will be portrayed by the same ensemble cast.
Tickets are priced at ₱772.50 for Sides and ₱1,030 for Center, and are available via TicketWorld.
