Now Streaming: ‘Little Women’ Musical is Online

Little Women the musical has begun streaming on BroadwayHD.

According to Playbill, the production streaming is the London premiere of the show which was recorded at the Park Theatre in December 2021. 

The production features Ryan Bennett (Jersey Boys) as Professor Bhaer, Hana Ichijo as Meg, Sev Keoshgerian (Little Miss Sunshine: A Road Musical) as Laurie, Anastasia Martin (Legends) as Beth, Mary Moore (The Sorcerer’s Apprentice) as Amy, Bernadine Pritchett (Phantom of the Opera) as Aunt March, Brian Protheroe (Othello) as Mr. Lawrence, Lejaun Sheppard (Tina) as John Brooke, Savannah Stevenson (Wicked) as Marmee, Lydia White (Chess) as Jo, and Liv Andrusier as a swing. 

The London production was directed by Bronagh Lagan with set and costume design by Nik Corrall, musical direction by Leo Munby, orchestrations by Andy Collyer, choreography by Sarah Golding, lighting design by Ben M. Rogers, sound design by Paul Gavin, and casting by Jane Deitch.

Based on the classic novel by Louisa May Alcott, with a book by Allan Knee, lyrics by Mindi Dickstein, and music by Jason Howland, Little Women follows the lives and loves of the March sisters: Meg, Jo, Beth, and Amy, and their Marmee, as they go through life in Concord, Massachusetts. The musical opened on Broadway in 2005, starring Sutton Foster as Jo, for which she was nominated a Tony Award. 

Among the memorable songs from the show are “Astonishing,” “The Fire Within Me,” and “Sometimes When You Dream.”

Little Women was locally staged by Repertory Philippines in 2010, directed by Menchu Lauchenco-Yulo.
