MET Opera to Stream Free Shows
The Metropolitan Opera has been offering up free streams of their shows online since the start of the pandemic last year. They’re now wrapping up their Nightly Met Streams series with a lineup that features history’s most celebrated composers.
The final week will close July 25 ET. There are new shows available nightly, up for 23 hours each. Here’s the schedule:
July 20
Cavalleria Rusticana and Pagliacci (1978)
Starring Tatiana Troyanos, Jean Kraft, Plácido Domingo, Vern Shinall, Teresa Stratas, Sherrill Milnes, and Allan Monk. Conducted by James Levine and production by Franco Zeffirelli.
July 21
Les Pêcheurs de Perles (2016)
Starring Diana Damrau, Matthew Polenzani, Mariusz Kwiecień, and Nicolas Testé. Conducted by Gianandrea Noseda and production by Penny Woolcock.
July 22
Les Contes d’Hoffmann (2015)
Starring Erin Morley, Hibla Gerzmava, Kate Lindsey, Christine Rice, Vittorio Grigolo, and Thomas Hampson. Conducted by Yves Abel and production by Bartlett Sher.
July 23
La Fille du Régiment (2008)
Starring Natalie Dessay, Felicity Palmer, Juan Diego Flórez, and Alessandro Corbelli. Conducted by Marco Armiliato and production by Laurent Pelly.
July 24
Il Trovatore (2015)
Starring Anna Netrebko, Dolora Zajick, Yonghoon Lee, and Dmitri Hvorostovsky. Conducted by Marco Armiliato and production by David McVicar
July 25
Un Ballo in Maschera (2012)
Starring Sondra Radvanovsky, Kathleen Kim, Stephanie Blythe, Marcelo Álvarez, and Dmitri Hvorostovsky. Conducted by Fabio Luisi and production by David Alden.
