WATCH: ‘Handa Awit’ featuring “Mabining Mandirigma” and “Aurelio Sedisyoso” Songs
Tanghalang Pilipino released the first installment of their online songs series called “Handa Awit” featuring songs from Nicanor Tiongson-penned musicals, Mabining Mandirigma and Aurelio Sedisyoso.
This first installment features anthems “Mahirap Bang Mag-Isip Bilang Pilipino” from Mabining Mandirigma and “Mabuhay ang Tanghalan” from Aurelio Sedisyoso, with music composed by Jed Balsamo. Featuring performances from Monique Wilson, David Ezra, Delphine Buencamino, Hazel Maranan, Roxy Aldiosa, Phi Palmos, Paw Castillo, Alfritz Blanche, Eunice Pacia, Monique Nelles, Jonathan Tadioan, and JV Ibesate.
The series, Handa Awit, is directed by Carlos Siguion-Reyna, with music direction and arrangement by Ejay Yatco, sound engineering by TJ Ramos, and video editing by Aggy Mago.
Tanghalang Pilipino plans to put out new installments of this series monthly as part of their Pantawid ng Tanghalan, a fundraising project that aims to seek help for Tanghalang Pilipino to sustain its operations during this pandemic.
