Britney Spears Musical “Once Upon a One More Time” Opens in Chicago this November
According to the New York Times, a new musical featuring the song catalog of Britney Spears, will be staged in the James M. Nederlander Theater in Chicago from November 13 to December 1, with previews beginning on October 29, for its pre-Broadway engagement.
Entitled “Once Upon a One More Time”, the musical will include characters such as Snow White, Cinderella, Rapunzel, and Sleeping Beauty. They are all members of a book club whose notions are challenged when a fairy godmother introduces them to the feminist classic “The Feminine Mystique.”
Book writer Jon Hartmere (Bare: A Pop Opera) says that the score currently includes 23 of Spears’ songs. The show will be directed by Kristin Hanggi (Rock of Ages), with choreography by Keone and Mari Madrid. Casting has yet to be announced.
