According to The Hollywood Reporter, “The Devil Wears Prada” is set to be a Broadway musical. The show will feature original music by Elton John, with lyrics by Shaina Taub and a book by Paul Rudnick.

It has also just been announced that Anna D. Shapiro (August: Osage County, This is Our Youth) will be directing the production. Dates and casting details have yet to be announced.

“The Devil Wears Prada” is a 2006 film based on Lauren Weisberger’s 2003 novel of the same name. It starred Meryl Streep as top fashion magazine editor Miranda Priestly, Anne Hathaway as Priestly’s co-assistant Andrea Sachs, Emily Blunt as co-assistant Emily Charlton, and Stanley Tucci as art director Nigel.
