Now Streaming: ‘The Nutcracker’ by Philippine Ballet Theatre
The 2019 production of the Philippine Ballet Theatre’s (PBT) The Nutcracker is streaming online.
Prior to the pandemic, the company has been staging The Nutcracker every holiday season. The story follows a little girl’s journey into a fantasy world of fairies, princess, toy soldiers and more.
The cast features Veronica Atienza as the Sugarplum Fairy, Matthew Davo as Cavalier, Regina Magbitang as Clara, and Kim Abrogena as the Dewdrop Fairy.
The Ballet Master is Anatoli Panasiukov. The choreography is by Gelsey Kirkland, updated by PBT’s Artistic Director Ronilo Jaynario. The performance was recorded from the CCP Main Theater.
