WATCH: Lea Salonga in New Video for ‘Once on This Island’!
A new video by TheaterMania has just been released featuring Lea Salonga and the cast of the upcoming Broadway revival, ‘Once on This Island’.
The musical tells the story of the peasant girl Ti Moune and the challenges she overcomes to prove that love is stronger than death. Salonga will play Erzulie, the god of love.
In the clip, we see a sneak peek of Salonga’s number, ‘Human Heart’, with Emerson Davis as Little Ti Moune.
The video also features numbers from the rest of the cast, including Phillip Boykin and Kenita R. Miller’s duet ‘One Small Girl’, Alex Newell’s ‘Mama Will Provide’, and Hailey Kilgore, who plays the adult Ti Moune, in the powerhouse number ‘Waiting for Life’.
With a book and lyrics by Lynn Ahrens and music by Stephen Flaherty, the ‘Once on This Island’ revival will be directed by Michael Arden and choreographed by Camille A. Brown. It begins previews on November 9, and will open on Broadway on December 3.
