Trumpets Playshop Stages Millennial Musical ‘Quarter Life: An Almost Adult Musical’

Supporting a family, finding a job, pursuing your passions and maintaining an active social and love life – how does a twenty-something act like an adult in today’s modern world?
Quarter Life: An Almost Adult Musical is an original piece comprising of four (4) short vignettes with Broadway and contemporary songs – that illustrate the struggles millennials endure on a day to day basis. Written, produced and performed by the inaugural class of Trumpets Playshop Playhouse Premiere, this musical aims to provide a safe space for all millennials, transitioning from being a student in school to a student of life, as they discuss and empathize the lessons from our most challenging teacher: growing up. At the same time, it has provided an excellent training ground for its participants to further develop their skills in singing, dancing and acting, while teaching them the groundwork of producing their own show.
The vignettes are Job Hunt, performed by Ma. Andrea Rufino, Gabby Concepcion, Gian Alvarez, Rissa La Madrid, JP Mercado, and Jep Go, The Great Wall, performed by Lau Plando, Greg Parilla, Nami Muzo, Mike Lopez, and Gabi Francisco, OFW, performed by Nino Rivera, Rizza Punsalan, Doni Ting, Camille Velicaria, and Rianelle Alba, and True Friends, performed by Jiano Magdaraog, Timothy Racho, Joshua Cheng, Nicah Santos, and Angeli Magdaraog.
Quarter Life: An Almost Adult Musical will run on Sunday, December 17, 2017, at the Pineapple Lab (6071 R. Palma Street Barangay Poblacion Makati City, 1210 Metro Manila). There will be a matinee show at 2pm and a gala show at 6pm.
Triumphant People’s Evangelistic Society (Trumpets) Playshop is a performing arts company with a mission to provide a venue for people of all ages to develop their God-given talents through various training programs in the areas of performance and multimedia. From its humble beginnings in 1993 to the present, it has produced world-class performers in the entertainment industry, particularly in music and theatre. Playhouse Premiere is Trumpets Playshop’s performing arts arm that aims to produce and stage shows for children and families by utilizing its homegrown talents.
