Sa Wakas the Musical Coming Back in 2017
Before Rak of Aegis, 3 Stars and a Sun, Dirty Old Musical, and Ako si Josephine, there was the OPM-inspired musical entitled Sa Wakas.
Sa Wakas, a Pinoy Rock Musical ran only for a very limited engagement at the PETA Theater from April 13-28 back in 2013. The musical quickly became a cult following thanks to a contemporary love story created by the show’s artistic team– producer Charissa Ann Pammit, book writers Mariane Abuan and Andrei Nikolai Pamintuan (where he also served as the show’s director), as well as the music by popular rock band Sugarfree meticulously arranged and weaved together by musical director Ejay Yatco.
Yesterday, it was announced that the production was finally going to have a re-run beginning this January 12 2017, almost 4 years since it was originally staged. The run will be staged in the Power Mac Center Spotlight in Circuit Makati.
Original cast members included Fred Lo, Caisa Borromeo, Kyla Rivera, who alternated with Vic Robinson, Laura Cabochan, and Justine Peña. Below is the official music video featuring the original cast and Sugarfree front man Ebe Dancel, singing the original song “Bawat Daan”. The song had been written by Dancel himself specifically for the musical.
But looks like there are going to be a few changes in the cast as the group is calling for auditions this October 23 and 27 at the Pineapple Lab in Poblacion, Makati.
