The English pantomime style comedy and direct asides to the audience is especially appreciated by younger patrons. This play production will showcase the gifts and musical prowess of our Ignatian Marian students and teachers on stage.
The life story of Cinderella unfolds through a godmother, of the fairy variety. She inquires her two helpers about the neediest case in the kingdom. Not surprisingly, they introduce her to Ella, who, after being orphaned, was left in the care of her wicked stepmother and stepsisters. Forced to use the kitchen as a bedroom, Ella can often be found daydreaming among the cinders from the fireplace, inspiring her stepfamily to rename her “Cinderella.” Wand in hand, Godmother sets about to change the girl’s life. With a dash of belief, a sprinkle of magic, and a pinch of true love, Cinderella has her life changed for good.
The Basic Education Department Faculty Club with the different students’ organization lead by the Special Program for the Arts – Ignatian Marian Theatre Company students, collaboratively combine efforts and resources in bringing this masterpiece to life under license from Music Theatre International (MTI), New York City using the – Cinderella (Prince Street Players’ Version) by the company that has become synonymous with “theatre for young audiences”.
