FULL LIST: 13th Gawad Buhay Award Nominations Announced
Lisa Macuja Elizalde and Gio Gahol have just announced the nominations for the 13th Gawad Buhay awards from the PETA Theater Center. Gawad Buhay is the country’s premier recognizing body for the performing arts which is the main program of Philstage, the proud alliance of Manila-based professional companies in the theatrical arts.
The announcement was made tonight, March 14, 8pm over at TheaterFansManila.com’s Facebook page and YouTube channel. Gawad Buhay is the country’s premier recognition awards for the performing arts.
Only shows produced by member companies of Philstage–the country’s alliance for performing arts companies–are eligibile for nominations. The nominations are chosen by an independent jury.
The shows and the people that are eligible for this year’s award ceremonies are the ones that garnered citations from 2020 and 2022.
For this year’s awards, the following shows are eligible: PETA’s Under My Skin, Trumpets Inc.’s Joseph the Dreamer, Repertory Philippines’ Stage Kiss, Tanghalang Pilipino’s Batang Mujahideen, Black Box Productions’ Dekada ’70, Tanghalang Pilipino’s Anak Datu, Barefoot Theatre Collaborative’s Mula sa Buwan, and Repertory Philippines’ Carousel.
