Dulaang Filipino Stages ‘A Trip to the Moon’
Dulaang Filipino celebrates the 14th year of “Crossroads”, an annual Benildean theater festival, organized by the Office of Culture and Arts. The festival offers best performances of production companies formed solely for CROSSROADS and showcases excellence in theater production of the Benildean and Lasallian Community. The theme the group chose for this year is Metaphysics; focusing on IDENTITY and EXISTENCE of the universe and everything or anything that encompasses it.
“A Trip To The Moon” is an official entry to this year’s Crossroads, directed by Nica Bayona and stars Christian Cusi as Jamie and Miggy Mercado as Lian. It is a musical that instils human truth, that the only way to get through it is to get through it; from bargaining with pain to healing for good.
The show is about Jamie, a man who moves out of his apartment after his wife’s passing. But just before he could start living a new life, a single memory from the past revisits him in a way he will never recognize, except for a song that once changed his life for the better.
The show will run on May 16, 2017 at 1pm and 7pm at the Black Box of the SDA Campus.
