‘Annie Live!’ Musical Announces Cast Members
Nicole Scherzinger has been cast in NBC’s Annie Live as Grace Farrell, the assistant of Mr. Warbucks.
As previously announced, Annie Live is NBC’s upcoming live musical. It is based on the classic comic strip Little Orphan Annie by Harold Gray which debuted in 1924 via the New York Daily News. The hit musical Annie premiered on Broadway in 1977 and ran for six years. It was written by James Whitcomb Riley with music by Charles Strouse, lyrics by Martin Charnin, and book by Thomas Meehan.
It follows the story of a young orphan girl named Annie who was adopted by a billionaire named Oliver Warbucks. Annie believes that her parents are still alive and so, with the help of Mr. Warbucks, they set up a reward for whoever can find Annie’s parents, attracting the attention of con artists.
Joining Scherzinger are Harry Connick Jr. as Mr. Warbucks and Taraji P. Henson as Miss Hannigan. The titular role has not yet been announced.
Annie Live! will air on December 2, 2021 on NBC.
