The first trailer has been released for Diana: the Musical which will be streaming on Netflix this October.

As previously reported, Diana: the Musical will be available on Netflix starting October 1.The show will be premiering on the streaming service before opening on Broadway on November 17 at the Longacre Theater.

Diana: the Musical celebrates the life of Princess Diana and her legacy that continues to inspire audiences around the world. It will explore the difficulties she endured as she struggled to fit in with the Royal Family. Imprisoned in a loveless marriage, Diana fights to have her own voice.

Princess Diana has long been a fascinating figure and has been portrayed in media numerous times including the 2013 biographical film, Diana, with Naomi Watts portraying the princess, and the upcoming film, Spencer, with Kristen Stewart in the title role. She was also portrayed, to critical acclaim, by Emma Corrin in the fourth season of the Netflix drama The Crown and an older version of the character will be played by Elizabeth Debicki in the upcoming fifth season.

The live recording is directed by Christopher Ashley and stars the Broadway cast: Jeanna de Waal as Diana, Roe Hartrampf as Prince Charles, Erin Davie as Camilla Parker Bowles, and Judy Kaye as Queen Elizabeth.

The creative team behind Diana include Joe DiPietro (Memphis) for book and lyrics, David Bryan (Memphis) for music and lyrics, Kelly Devine (Come From Away) for choreography, with scoring, musical supervision, and arrangements by Ian Eisendrath (Come From Away).
