At today’s matinee curtain call, Gab Pangilinan said, “Sana po magkita-kita muli tayo sa December. Though we will not be extending this run, we hope to see you in December, so please do invite your family and friends.”

“Maraming maraming salamat sa pag-welcome sa amin lahat sa pagbabalik ng teatro at sa pagbabalik namin sa buwan.” Exact show dates have yet to be announced. Mula sa Buwan’s current run is set to close this evening.

This production of Mula sa Buwan, not unlike some of the other shows that preceded it this year, was not exempted from pandemic hurdles. Its closing weekend, which was originally slated for September 9 to 11, had to be moved to September 16 to 18 due to a member of the company testing positive for COVID-19. All 5 shows of its closing weekend were already sold out.

Mula sa Buwan opened at the new Samsung Performing Arts Theater last August 26, 2022. The 2022 cast features Myke Salomon (who also serves as musical director) as Cyrano, Gab Pangilinan as Roxane, Markki Stroem as Christian, Phi Palmos as Rosanna, MC Dela Cruz as Maximo, Jon Abella as Tato, and Jillian Ita-as as Gabriel.

Also in the cast are Abe Autea, Jep Go, Rapah Manalo, Stephen Viñas, Ericka Peralejo, Miah Canton, Francis Gatmaytan, Mitzie Lao, Deborah Lemuel, Mark Anthony Grantos, Eizel Marcelo, Kinnara Mayari, Ace Polias, Liway Perez, Lance Reblando, Mikaela Regis, Chesko Rodriguez, Keith Sumbi, Shaira Opsimar, and Khalil Tambio.

Mula sa Buwan is an original Filipino musical based on Edmond Rostand’s Cyrano de Bergerac and Soc Rodrigo’s Filipino translation. The show is created by Pat Valera and William Elvin Manzano. Valera also directs the production.

Other members of the creative team include Ohm David (set design), Meliton Roxas (lighting design), JM Cabling (choreography), Bonsai Cielo (costume design), and Mikko Angeles (assistant direction).
