Spot On Cabaret to Headline Neomi Gonzales This April

Spot On! A Cabaret, the bi-monthly series created by theater artist Sweet Plantado-Tiongson to spotlight local theater talent, is set to return this April with featured performer Neomi Gonzales.

A mainstay in the Philippine theater scene, Gonzales has taken on featured roles in Bagets: The Musical, Walang Aray, Going Home to Christmas: A Jose Mari Chan Musical, Liwanag sa Dilim, One More Chance, The Musical, Tabing Ilog the Musical, Himala: Isang Musikal—including its film adaptation Isang Himala—as well as Eto na! Musikal nAPO!, Rak of Aegis, and Manila Notes, among many others.

The upcoming cabaret will see Gonzales, joined by special guests Vic Robinson and Aicelle Santos, with special participation by Ring Antonio and Joann Co., under the direction of Plantado-Tiongson and musical direction by Farley Asuncion.

“I’ve had the privilege of knowing Neomi for years, watching her grow into the remarkable actress and performer she is today,” shares Plantado-Tiongson. “Her talent, dedication, and undeniable stage presence have always set her apart, and now, it feels only right that she takes the spotlight in her own solo cabaret show. This moment is not just well-deserved—it’s long overdue. Audiences are in for something truly special as she finally steps center stage, owning it in a way only she can.”

For Gonzales, the invitation to headline the cabaret is a meaningful one.

“When I was asked to do Spot On Cabaret, my first reaction was simple: I was happy. Excited. Deeply touched to be invited,” she shares. “There’s something about being asked, especially after years in the theater, that still feels like a gift. Like someone sees you and says, ‘You still belong here.’ And I do.”

According to Plantado-Tiongson, Gonzales will perform “a wide range of both Broadway and original Filipino musicals… like you’ve never heard her sing before.” The setlist will include a Barbra Streisand medley, Broadway songs she will be performing for the first time, as well as selections from Stephen Sondheim, Ryan Cayabyab, and Vincent A. DeJesus, among others.
