Sights and Sounds: Wicked Manila Fan Day
Last September 2, we had the pleasure of spending an entire day celebrating the musical Wicked! At 11:30am, there was a press launch held at the Diamond Hotel, where leading ladies Jacqueline Hughes, who plays Elphaba, and Carly Anderson, who plays Glinda, answered questions from the press. At 5pm in the afternoon, we went to Greenbelt 5 and spent an entire evening with the fans. It was a costume party and a meet and greet with the cast rolled into one! Take a look at their Swankified costumes!

Jacqueline Hughes, who will play Elphaba when WICKED lands in Manila next year, sings the Green Witch’s first song The Wizard and I at the WICKED fan event. Hughes started out in WICKED as a swing and went to play Elphaba as a standby, before assuming the lead role in the WICKED UK tour. She will don the green makeup in Singapore and Hong Kong before gracing our shores in February next year.
Jacqueline Hughes and Carly Anderson sing one of the show’s most popular and heartfelt songs: For Good. Anderson plays Glinda alongside Hughes’ Elphaba. In this song, the two witches sing of their beautiful friendship, and how their lives were changed forever by one another. We’ve only gotten a small glimpse of the two leading ladies’ talent, but if these performances are any indication, WICKED is going to blow audiences away once again!
