In an online announcement, Repertory Philippines has announced that it will be postponing the rest of this year’s line-up to 2021.

Planned productions of Carousel, initially scheduled for May 2020, has been moved to February 2021, and REP Theater For Young Audiences (RTYA)’s Snow White and the Prince, initially slated for September 2020, has been postponed to September 2021.

The company is also making more content available online. REPisodes, its new brand of original digital content, has started with A Tea Party with Quarantined Princesses, while its theater workshops will also be moving virtually starting July. They are also exploring presenting full-length shows online.

In a Facebook statement, REP said, “As always, safety is our priority. We hope everyone stays safe, and we hope to see you all back at the theater soon. To our faithful subscribers—your season passes may be refunded or applied for use for our 2021 season.”

According to verafiles.org, the Cultural Center of the Philippines has also cancelled its live shows for 2020. Instead, the group is also releasing a lot of online content, including CCP Online, which is bringing HD and archival recordings in theater, dance, visual arts, film, literary, and workshop events from CCP’s Cultural Content Digital Archives to audiences online, and the upcoming Virgin Labfest, which will be going online for the first time in 16 years.
