Once a Panahon, which features 3 one-act plays by Juliene Mendoza, will be staged at The 9th Studios Creative Hub (9th floor, Dominion Building, Arnaiz Avenue corner Paseo de Roxas, Makati) on November 29 and December 6, 7:30pm.

Ross Pesigan, Sarah Facuri, Joshua Cabiladas, and Audie Gemora will be performing staged readings of the 3 plays entitled Collector’s Item, Clowning Around, and Ang Sundo. These 30-minute plays are products of writing workshops conducted by playwright George de Jesus III from 2012 to 2017.

The three featured plays are all based on fiction; slightly odd and surreal. Collector’s Item, first staged in The Virgin Labfest, follows a bizarre rivalry between best friends over a college sweetheart. Clowning Around is a quirky love story about a Clown and an emotionally unstable girl. Loosely adapted from The Selfish Giant by Oscar Wilde, Ang Sundo tells the story of the Gardener of an Enchanted Garden, and his dilemma of choosing life or death in the twilight of his years.

The staged readings will be followed by a Christmas Music Jam by Lissa T. del Valle. Tickets are at P500 each, with only 40+ seats per show.

For tickets and other inquiries, call Maria Eleanore Lukban at 0917-5336121 or message The 9th Studios Creative Hub on Facebook. The two-night event is a fundraiser for Roy Del Valle’s hospital bills.

A staged version of Once a Panahon was slated to run last March 2020 but was unfortunately cancelled to the pandemic.
