Now Streaming: ‘Alay nina Alice at Agnes’ is Online

Alay nina Alice at Agnes is now streaming on the Facebook page of the Metropolitan Theater.

This special performance at the Metropolitan Theater was part of the month-long celebration of the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Order of National Artists. The show was previously the second part of the *Pulso Pilipinas* series that kicked off the CCP Dance Series (Live!). It ran from September 30 to October 2 at the CCP Main Theater.

Known for their decorated careers and significant contributions to the development of Philippine Dance, National Artists Alice Reyes (awarded in 2014) and Agnes Locsin (awarded last June) presented a mixed program of highlights from their extensive repertoires. This show will focus on their legacy, featuring Locsin’s “Igorot,” “Moriones,” “Elias at Salome,” and Reyes’ “Carmina Burana.”

“Igorot” features choreography by Locsin, music by the College of Ethnic Music, performed by the Bayanihan Dance Co., and arranged by Lucrecia Kasilag. The performers are Stephanie Santiago (Priestess), Erl Sorilla, Tim Cabrera (Hunters), Monica Gana, Dan Dayo (War), Richardson Yadao, and Monica Gana (Courtship)

“Elias at Salome” features choreography by Locsin, music by Isaac Albeniz – Espana, Op 165: II. Tango (arr. for guitar) and Joaquin Rodrigo – Concierto De Aranjuez (2nd Movement): Adagio. The piece is performed by Biag Gaongen (Elias) and Katrene San Miguel (Salome).

“Moriones” features choreography by Locsin and music by Philip Glass. The piece is performed by Renzen Arboleda, Dan Dayo, Tim Cabrera, and Erl Sorilla.

“Carmina Burana” features choreography by Reyes with music by Carl Orff. The piece is performed by AL Abraham, Sarah Alejandro, Ejay Arisola, Janine Arisola, Macel Dofitas, Tim Cabrera, Michaella Carreon, Dan Dayo, Monica Gana, Lester Reguindin, Katrene San Miguel, Stephanie Santiago, Karla Santos, Erl Sorilla, Richardson Yadao, Joline Ablay, Ian David Hormillosa, Gladith Navarro, Noel Polinar, and Rian Vince Punzalan. It also features the participation of Guang Ming College and the University of the East Silanganan Dance Troupe.
