“Moulin Rouge!” Cast Album Now on Spotify!
The full Broadway Cast Album for Moulin Rouge! The Musical has just dropped on Spotify!
The musical officially opened at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre on Broadway last July 25, with previews beginning last June 28.
Based on Baz Luhrmann’s 2001 movie musical starring Ewan McGregor and Nicole Kidman, Moulin Rouge! The Musical features Aaron Tveit as Christian and Karen Olivo as Satine. They are joined by Danny Burstein (Harold Zidler), Sahr Ngaujah (Toulouse-Lautrec), Tam Mutu (The Duke), Ricky Rojas (Santiago), and Robyn Hurder (Nini).
Ensemble members include Jacqueline B. Arnold, Holly James, Jeigh Madjus, Ashley Loren (standy for Satine), Amber Ardolino, Olutayo Bosede, Kyle Brown, Sam Cahn, Max Clayton, Karli Dinardo (Dance captain/ swing), Aaron C. Finley, Paloma Garcia-Lee, Bahiyah Hibah, Ericka Hunter, Evan Kinnane (swing), Reed Luplau, Morgan Marcell, Caleb Marshall (swing), Brandt Martinez, Jodi McFadden, Kaitlin Mesh (swing), Kevyn Morrow, Fred Odgaard (Assistant Dance Captain), Dylan Paul, Khori Michelle Petinaud, and Benjamin Rivera.
Moulin Rouge! tells the fictional story of an ambitious, lovesick writer, Christian, who falls in love with Satine, the dazzling star of the Moulin Rouge. The cast album features music from the film as well as more current pop music from some of today’s top artists.
The musical is directed by Alex Timbers, with a book by John Logan, musical direction by Cian McCarthy, orchestrations and arrangements by Justin Levine, co-orchestrations by Katie Kresek, Charlie Rosen, and Matt Stine, set design by Derek McLane, costume design by Catherine Zuber, lighting design by Justin Townsend, sound design by Peter Hylenski, and choreography by Sonya Tayeh.
