MCC Theater’s Miscast is an annual event that features Broadway stars performing songs from roles in which they would never be cast.

As it celebrates its 20th year amidst the threat of COVID-19, this year’s full event will be live-streamed for free for the first time and captioned on MCC’s YouTube channel.

According to Playbill.com, the performers include Leslie Odom Jr. (Hamilton), Phillipa Soo (Hamilton), Adrienne Warner (Tina the Musical), Isaac Powell (Once on this Island), Robert Fairchild (An American in Paris), Ingrid Michaelson (Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812), Joshua Henry (Carousel), Heather Headley (Aida), Beanie Feldstein (Hello, Dolly!), Rob McClure (Beetlejuice), Norbert Leo Butz (Catch Me If You Can), Lauren Ridloff (Children of a Lesser God), Nicolette Robinson (Waitress), and the original cast of Hairspray– Harvery Fierstein, Marissa Jaret Winokur, Laura Bell Bundy, Kerry Butler, Matthew Morrison, Corey Reynolds, Jennifer Gambatese, Jackie Hoffman, Kamilah Marshall, Judine Somerville, and Shayna Steele. Will Van Dyke serves as musical supervisor.

Funds raised from the event will help MCC produce new work Off-Broadway, support its Youth Company and in-school partnerships that serve New York City public high school students, and fund its literary development work with emerging playwrights. 10% of the funds will also go to The Mental Health Coalition.

Miscast20 will be streamed on September 14, 8am Philippine time, with a pre-show special beginning at 7:45am. You can watch the trailer for the event below.
