“Miong” Musical to be Broadcasted on Cignal TV this Weekend

Subscribers of Cignal TV can watch REP’s original musical Miong this weekend!

Written and directed by Joy Virata, with songs by Ian Monsod and additional lyrics by Freddie Santos, the production follows the life and times of Emilio Aguinaldo, the first president of the Philippines. It was last staged in February 2019 at the Onstage Theater of Greenbelt 1 starring Tim Pavino as Emilio Aguinaldo.

The cast also features Noel Rayos as Berong, Cara Barredo as Yayang, Meynard Peñalosa as Father Blas, and Elver Esquivel as Don Carlos. Also in the creative team are Dexter Santos (choreography) and Ejay Yatco (musical direction).

An earlier version of the musical was first staged by the company in 1998 starring Rem Zamora.
