The Lion King live action starring Donald Glover (Simba), Beyoncé (Nala), James Earl Jones (Mufasa), Chiwetel Ejiofor (Scar), John Oliver (Zazu), Seth Rogen (Pumbaa), and Billy Eichner (Timon) has been slated to come to the big screen this July 19, 2019

In an interview with The Sun, The Lion King composer Elton John said, “There’s going to be four of our songs in the film, from the original: ‘Can You Feel The Love Tonight?’, ‘Hakuna Matata’, ‘I Just Can’t Wait To Be King’ and ‘Circle of Life’.”

He added that he’s working on an end credits song with lyricist Tim Rice and Beyoncé, who will be playing Nala. “And then there will be an end, closing song, and we’ve been speaking to Beyoncé’s people and hopefully Tim and I and her can cook up something.”

This only means that the classic song, “Be Prepared”, the classic solo by main villain Scar has sadly been cut from the upcoming remake.

Director Jon Favreau will helm the 2019 remake, together with producer Jeffrey Silver.
