The Cultural Center of the Philippines and Ayala Cinemas will be bringing the West End production of Life of Pi for cinematic release on September 26, 5:30pm at Greenbelt 3, Cinema 1, Makati City.

Filmed by National Theatre Live from London’s West End, the play is adapted for the stage by Lolita Chakrabarti based on the best-selling novel of the same name by Yann Martel. The play is directed by Max Webster and stars Hiran Abeysekera as Pi.

The play premiered in June 2019 at the Crucible Theatre, Sheffield before transferring to the Wyndham’s Theatre in London’s West End in November 2021, where it won five Laurence Olivier Awards including Best New Play. It then transferred to Broadway in 2023, where it was nominated for 5 Tony Awards and won 3, including Best Scenic Design of a Play.

After a cargo ship sinks in the middle of the vast Pacific Ocean, a 16-year-old boy named Pi is stranded on a lifeboat with four other survivors – a hyena, a zebra, an orangutan and a Royal Bengal tiger. Time is against them, nature is harsh, who will survive?

Tickets to the cinematic release are P250 for regular viewers and P150 for students. You can visit the ticket booth for tickets or book through www.sureseats.com.
