‘Jesus Christ Superstar’ Gets 13 Emmy Nominations!
Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert, which aired live on NBC last Easter, just earned a record-breaking number of Emmy nominations for a live TV musical with 13, including Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited Series or Movie for John Legend (Jesus Christ), Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited Series or Movie for Sara Bareilles (Mary Magdalene), Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited Series or Movie for Brandon Victor Dixon (Judas), and Outstanding Variety Special (Live).
Composer Andrew Lloyd Webber took to Twitter to commemorate the feat:

Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda was also nominated for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series for his appearance in ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’, and Dear Evan Hansen’s Pasek and Paul were nominated for Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics for ‘A Christmas Story Live!’
