“In the Heights” Official Movie Trailer Released!
The official movie trailer for In the Heights has just been released!
It follows a teaser trailer that was released yesterday.

In the Heights is the feature film version of the 2008 Broadway musical written by original star Lin-Manuel Miranda (music and lyrics) and Quiara Alegría Hudes (book). It follows the story of Usnavi, a bodega owner who has mixed feelings about closing his store and retiring to the Dominican Republic after inheriting his grandmother’s fortune. The film’s screenplay is written by Hudes and Marc Klein.
The cast features Anthony Ramos as Usnavi, Corey Hawkins as Benny, Melissa Barrera as Vanessa, Leslie Grace as Nina Rosario, Stephanie Beatriz as Carla, Jimmy Smits as Kevin Rosario, Gregory Diaz IV as Sonny, Daphne Rubin-Vega as Daniela, Dascha Polanco as Cuca, Marc Anthony as Sonny’s father, Noah Catala as Graffiti Pete, Lin-Manuel Miranda as Piraguero, and Olga Merediz as Abuele Claudia, who originated the same role on Broadway.
The movie is directed by John Chu (Crazy Rich Asians). It is set to be released in US cinemas on June 26, 2020.
In the Heights opened on Broadway in March 2008 and won four Tony Awards, including Best Musical. The musical was staged here locally in 2011 by Atlantis Theatrical starring Nyoy Volante as Usnavi.
