HMO for Artists Available through the Artists Welfare Project, Inc.
The Artists Welfare Project, Inc. (AWFI) has set up an affordable Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) system for freelance artists.
Their HMO for Artists program gives freelance artists access to affordable health care plans that include doctor’s professional fees, hospitalization fees, lab fees, ambulance service, emergency room service, annual physical exams, special procedures, burial assistance, basic dental services, and even COVID-19 treatments.
This is open for creatives, their family, and even their friends aged 18-65 years old.
The annual fee is Php 11,000.00 where AWPI members can get the maximum benefit limit worth Php 75k of services per illness and Php 10k worth of services for pre-existing diseases. Coverage starts from August 4, 2020 to August 3, 2021.

Established in 2007, the AWPI is an organization for the wellbeing and development of artists. They regularly hosts talks for artists in the creative fields on topics ranging from health and wellness, legal advice, intellectual property rights, and financial literacy.
For the month of July, they are hosting a talk on Managing Stress and Anxiety conducted by stress management consultant Dr. Kisset Mangabat on July 18, 2:00 PM at their Facebook page. On July 25 at 2:00 PM, the scheduled talk will be about Mental Health conducted by mental health advocate Dr. Gia Sison.
