Floy Quintos and Dexter M. Santos, who have collaborated for the past 11 years as playwright and director respectively, are now embarking on their 7th collaboration with Grace, a new play based on a religious controversy in 1948, to be produced by Stella Cañete-Mendoza and Juliene Mendoza.

The play is based on the true story of Sister Teresita “Teresing” Castillo, then a novice nun, who claimed that after many encounters with the devil, the Virgin Mother appeared to her in the convent of the Discalced Carmelites in Lipa Carmel, Batangas as Mary, Mediatrix of all Grace. Her account, along with the alleged apparitions and miracles, ignited a national controversy in 1948 that remains unresolved and continues to haunt the Philippine church and its faithful today.
