‘Grace’ by Floy Quintos Returns for its Final Run this June
Encore Theater’s Grace, Floy Quintos’ last work before his passing, returns for its final run—now at the PETA Theater Center—this June.
The show previously ran at the PMCS Blackbox Theater, Circuit Makati, and later at the Doreen Black Box Theater, Areté of Ateneo de Manila University, both in 2024.
Grace is a fictionalized narrative based on the alleged apparitions of Mary, Mediatrix of All Grace at Lipa Carmel in 1948, as well as the miracles and controversies that have surrounded these events to this day.
According to Encore Theater CEO Stella Cañete-Mendoza, who also stars as Teresita Castillo, this run also serves as the company’s end of mourning and the beginning of its celebration of Quintos’ life and work. This year marks the prolific playwright’s first death anniversary.
Returning to reprise their roles are Cañete-Mendoza, Shamaine Centenera-Buencamino, and Frances Makil-Ignacio, while Matel Patayon returns to take on a new character. Marynor Madamesila joins the production and completes the cast of women.
Leo Rialp, Dennis Marasigan, Jojo Cayabyab, and Raphne Catorce also return to reprise their roles. Reb Atadero joins the production and completes the cast of men.
Dexter M. Santos, Quintos’ longtime collaborator, directs the play, together with Mitoy Sta. Ana (Production Designer), John Batalla (Lighting Designer), Steven Tansiongco (Graphic and Video Designer), Arvy Dimaculangan (Music and Sound Designer), Mikko Angeles (Assistant Director), Marvin Olaes (Dramaturg), Davidson Oliveros (Dramaturg), and Meliton Roxas, Jr. (Technical Director).
Grace runs from June 14 to 29 (Saturdays and Sundays, 2 PM and 7 PM) at the PETA Theater Center, Quezon City. Tickets are available at Ticket2Me or through the company’s showbuyers and bulk buyers.
