‘Gabriela: The Musical’ Full Cast Announced

Barefoot Theatre Collaborative has announced the full cast and creative team of its upcoming original production, Gabriela: The Musical, led by Gab Pangilinan as Filipino revolutionary leader Gabriela Silang.

Joining Pangilinan are Myke Salomon as Diego Silang and CJ Navato as Miguel Vicos, with Kerr Mangoma as Sebastian, Mikaela Regis as Kunyap/Gimayad, Jasper Jimenez as Tagaben, Delphine Buencamino as Dawak, Carlon Matobato as Frayle, Jon Abella as Alcalde, and Jules Dela Paz as Principalia.

The ensemble, portraying the dual worlds of the Mga Kailian and Mga Itneg, features Curp Adriano, Joshua Rico Santos, Vincent Sumo, Andre Manguba, Ace Polias, Khalil Tambio, Evan Asuela, Chesko Rodriguez, Ada Tayao, Teetin Villanueva, Mijon Anne Cortez, Denize Castillo, Rona dela Peña, Lance Reblando, Pappel, and Joie Eborde.

Several members of the company will also serve as understudies and swings. Pappel understudies Gabriela, Khalil Tambio understudies Diego, Curp Adriano understudies Sebastian, Rona dela Peña understudies Dawak, and Lance Reblando understudies Kunyap. Chesko Rodriguez serves as male swing for Frayle, Alcalde, and Principalia, while Janji Gamboa and Joie Eborde serve as male and female ensemble swings, respectively.

As previously announced, Gabriela: The Musical reimagines the story of Gabriela Silang, who continued the Ilocano revolt against Spanish colonial rule following the assassination of her husband, Diego Silang, in 1763. The musical is described as a story where “revolution begins with love.”

The production reunites the creative trio behind Bar Boys: The Musical, with Pat Valera writing the book and lyrics, Salomon serving as composer and musical director, and Mikko Angeles directing.

Joining them on the artistic team are JM Cabling (movement director), Katte Sabate (dramaturg), Julio Garcia (set and property designer), Bonsai Cielo (costume designer), Meliton Roxas and Gabo Tolentino (co-lighting designers), Arvy Dimaculangan (sound designer), Aina Ramolete (puppetry designer), D Cortezano (technical director), Wika Nadera (art director and photographer), Hershee Tantiado (associate costume designer), Patrick Jusay (associate set designer and FOH designer), and Carlo Gianan (assistant director).

Gabriela: The Musical will run from November 13 to December 6, 2026 at Hyundai Hall, Areté in Quezon City.

Prices range from ₱999 to ₱3,199, depending on the seat section and performance schedule. For Saturday afternoon and evening performances, Sunday afternoon performances, and the December 6 evening performance, prices are ₱3,199 (VIP Orchestra), ₱2,699 (Orchestra 1), ₱2,199 (Orchestra 2 and Mezzanine 1), ₱1,699 (Mezzanine 2), and ₱1,299 (Mezzanine 3). For Thursday, Friday, and Sunday evening performances, except December 6, prices are ₱2,999, ₱2,499, ₱1,999, ₱1,999, ₱1,499, and ₱999, respectively.
