The experimental improv festival Fringeprov returns for its 2025 edition on September 6 at 7 PM, running until September 7 at 7 AM, with over 30 improv performances packed into a 12-hour marathon.

The Fringeprov Festival is a community-led improvisational theater event launched in 2018 by the Philippine Improv school Third World Improv (TWI). It was created to encourage experimental approaches to improvisational theater in a safe, supportive space.

Now in its 7th year, Fringeprov 2025: Buong Gabi Comedy is led by alumni graduate volunteers of TWI and showcases acts from both TWI student-formed groups and other groups from the wider Philippine improv community.

This year’s festival will feature four performance blocks, each with eight improv groups: Block 1 (7 PM–10 PM), Block 2 (10 PM–1 AM), Block 3 (1 AM–4 AM), and Block 4 (4 AM–7 AM).

Notable groups performing include Housekeeping Improv, Noted with Thanks, Same Bananas, Buwan ng Wika Improv, Improv Sessionistas, Hausmates, Malingap Beksters, and Asia’s premier improv theater company, SPIT Manila.

Audiences can expect a mix of comedic and dramatic performances, fueled by performers’ sleep deprivation and adrenaline. This energy heightens the joy of “Yes, And”-ing spontaneous creativity and experimentation—making the festival a uniquely memorable experience for both audiences and performers alike.

Fringeprov 2025 will be held at Skinny Mike’s BGC. Tickets are priced at P1,000, inclusive of a free drink, and are available through the group’s website. For more details on the performance blocks and participating groups, visit the official Fringeprov 2025 Facebook page.
