‘Bayan Bayanan’ Musical Shows Postponed

Bayan Bayanan: Letters from Home shows have been postponed to later this month to better ensure the health and safety of the performers and the audience.

The show was supposed to start its run at the Tanghalang Nicanor Abelardo (CCP Main Theater) on July 15 and then on July 16 and 17. The new dates are as follows:

July 29, 7:00 PM July 30, 7:00 PM July 31, 3:00 PM

Audiences may be assured that the same tickets will be honored, so those who bought tickets for July 15 may watch the July 29 show and so on.

Based on a play written by Bienvenido M. Noriega Jr., Bayan Bayanan: Letters from Home is set in Europe, told from the perspective of a Filipino scholar sent to Geneva for further studies but was enamored with France and falls for a French girl. It will also tell stories of other Filipinos and their experience of building a “community of home” wherever they are in the world.

The production is directed by Anton Juan. He is also part of the musical’s team of librettists and composers that also include Cleofe Guancgo-Casambre, Russ Narcies-Cabico, Andrew Bryan Sapigao, Jonathan Cruz, and a special song from Jerry Dadap. Musical Arranger is Jonathan Cruz, Stage Designer is Ohm David, Lighting Designer is Meliton Roxas, Jr.

The large ensemble of actors includes Banaue Miclat-Janssen, Ava Olivia P. Santos, Carlo Angelo Falcis, Abigail Sulit, Jacinta Remulla, Carlo Mañalac, Greg de Leon, Roxie Aldiosa, Christine Angelica Evangelista, Kendrick Tamayo, Richard Macaroyo, Timothy Carlo Racho, Jane Florence Wee, Matteo Teehankee, Adrian de Ubago, Karina Macaspac, and Uno Zigelbaum.
