Air Supply Musical ‘All Out of Love’ to Premiere in Manila

With the full support of Australian soft rock duo Air Supply, the new original musical ‘All Out of Love’ is set to stage its world premiere in Manila this October at the Newport Performing Arts Theater of Resorts World Manila.

The musical was developed by an Australian creative team and will feature an all-Filipino cast. Sets and costumes will also be constructed in Manila.

The story unfolds in a single night in New York, where two lost lovers are finally granted one last chance at love, and with a little luck, the chance to be reunited forever.

Auditions

Auditions have been set for March 12-March 14. Interested actors must be available for the week for callbacks.

Where: 3rd Floor Newport Performing Arts Theatre – Backstage Rehearsal Room / 9:30am to 6:00pm

Key dates:

12 September – 15 September – Voice workshop for principal cast members

17 September – rehearsal start for all cast

18 October – first performance

If an actor wishes to audition for a principal role, please email Jun Bartolome at jpbartolome@ultimate.com.ph. He will be organizing the sheet music. Actors will need to prepare the said pieces for the audition.

Characters

Jamie Crimson (Romanic male lead)

Age range: 25 – 35 (playing 28 – 34)

Description: Jamie is an American rock star with 2 albums, 8 times platinum albums, 7 top ten hits in 23 countries and 7 Grammies. With all the success in the world, he has lost the one thing that matters, his Muse.

Skills: Must be a strong singer, strong acting roll and good mover/dancer

Vocal range: B1 – A3

Rayne (Romanic female lead)

Age range: 25 – 35 (playing 27 – 30)

Description: Rayne is a singer. She is starting her solo career and trying to make a name for herself in the independent music scene. Rayne fell in love with Jamie and now is heartbroken now they have split up.

Skills: Must be a strong singer, strong acting roll and good mover/dancer

Vocal range: F#2 – F4 (belt/mix)

Stacie King (Principal role)

Age range: 21 – 28 (playing 20 – 24)

Description: Recently graduated from Havard and now ready to take on the music world, if only her father would let her. Daddy’s little girl wants to be treated like an adult. She is smart, fun and full of wonder at the world around her. Stacie is Tommy King’s daughter.

Skills: Must be a strong singer, strong acting roll and good mover/dancer

Vocal range: G2 – C4 (belt)

Tommy King (Principal role)

Age range: 40 – 60 (playing early 50’s)

Description: A dignified old man, fashionably (though perhaps too youthfully) dressed. He always wears a flower in his label of his jacket to remind him of his wife, who is now dead. Tommy King is a music industry/record mogul and controls his company and his artists with an iron fist. He is the father of Stacie.

Skills: Must be a strong singer, strong acting roll and good mover/dancer

Vocal range: C2 – Ab3

Kurt Swinghammer  (Principal role and Ensemble member)

Age range: 40 – 60 (playing early 50’s)

Description: Kurt is the arch nemesis of Tommy King. Business rival of Tommy King and the bad guy of the show. He is slick with his snake skin suit and pony tail hair style. He can’t be trusted.

Skills: Must be a strong singer, strong acting roll and good mover/dancer

Vocal range: C2 – Ab3

Swings

Age range: 20 – 40

Description: 3 swings to play the principal roles in the show. The Swings will be on-stage swings and will join the ensemble on stage during performances

Ensemble members

Age range: 20 – 30

Description: 10 ensemble members

Skills: Must be a strong singer and must be a good dancer
