‘Sinderela at ang Gintong Sapatilya’ Musical to Be Staged in Batangas This February 2027
Teatro B and Lipa Actors Company (LAC) are set to stage the Batangueño musical Sinderela at ang Gintong Sapatilya on February 20 and 21, 2027 at Teatrino Saxum of Scuola Maria in Batangas City.
Returning nearly a decade after its original staging, the musical will introduce 17-year-old Rhoelle Mamorno as Sinderela, a role previously played by Batangueña actress and TikTok personality Queenay Mercado. Craig Matthew Quizon will star opposite Mamorno as Antonio, Sinderela’s Prince Charming.
The casting was announced during the closing performance of Ang Sistema ni Propesor Tuko, the second installment of Teatro B and LAC’s Brunch Theater series at Hashtag Coffee. Mamorno and Quizon also performed a duet from the upcoming musical during the event.
The new production will feature an ensemble of Batangueño performers selected through auditions held last July. The staging marks a new chapter for the musical, with a new cast and creative team bringing the story to a new generation of audiences.
Originally written by Luisito Nario, with RK Mercado as co-writer, Sinderela at ang Gintong Sapatilya offers a Filipino take on the Cinderella story.
The upcoming staging will be co-directed by Peregrine Santiago, a Gawad Kumintang awardee, and Vince Conrad, a Dangal ng Batangan awardee and Division Champion at the recent World Championships of Performing Arts (WCOPA).
Fernando Silva serves as musical director, Glenn Ramirez as technical director, and architect Dhennis Sigua as production designer.
The production is the latest collaboration between Teatro B and Lipa Actors Company, following their Brunch Theater series. Its second installment, Ang Sistema ni Propesor Tuko, sold out all six of its performances before closing with the announcement of Sinderela at ang Gintong Sapatilya.
Performances of Sinderela at ang Gintong Sapatilya are scheduled for February 20 at 7 PM and February 21 at 2 PM and 7 PM at Teatrino Saxum of Scuola Maria in Batangas City.
Tickets are priced at ₱800, with an early bird rate of ₱750 available until November 2026.
