‘Shattered Sheep’ Staged Reading to Run this April
Update on April 17, 2026, 1:45 PM: Due to unforeseen circumstances, the shows from April 17 to 19 have been moved from Disciple Brew to The Third Space Innovation, Inc., 27 South Rd, Quezon City, Metro Manila.
Exile Assembly, a new Quezon City-based Christian theater group, makes its debut with Shattered Sheep, a staged reading running from April 10–19, 2026 at Disciple Brew in Eton Centris, Quezon City.
Shattered Sheep is a story about Jesus’ disciples in between his death and resurrection, told through the eyes of the faithful left behind. It tackles themes of grief, faith, and family, offering a perspective beyond the more familiar, celebratory retellings of the story.
The piece presents a fictional story based on events recorded in the Gospel accounts—focusing on a time period with little to no record. It offers a glimpse of the disciples in the face of their greatest fear, grounding them not as distant figures, but as people confronted with loss.
Often encountered as statues and portraits, the disciples here are reimagined in a deeply human moment: Jesus is dead. The aftermath becomes a space of uncertainty, where grief and fear give way to a pressing question—what happens next?
Described as raw, reverent, and contemporary, the piece explores the aftermath—centering on loss and uncertainty.
Last year, the play was staged as a full production under Destiny Stages, the theater ministry of Destiny Church Manila. After a year of revisions and improvements, Shattered Sheep now takes a step outside the church as a staged reading under Exile Assembly.
Written and directed by Karl Salenda, the staged reading features a cast that includes Donn Boco, Tristan Bite, Joann Co, Dyas Adarlo, Chris Abecia, Johnny B. Maglinao, Trechelle Joy M. Ras, Hades Kitane, VJ Cortel, Jason Chan, Von Mañabo, Gabriel Tyler Rosario, and Sam De Mesa.
Shattered Sheep will run on April 10, 11, 12, 17, 18, and 19, 2026, with all performances scheduled at 7:00 PM. It will be held at Disciple Brew, located at Cluster 3, Eton Centris, EDSA corner Quezon Avenue, Quezon City. Tickets are priced at ₱750 per person, inclusive of one complimentary drink, and can be purchased through the group’s Google Form.
